Make Animals Out Of Aquapod Water Bottles

Make Animals Out of Aquapod Water Bottles

Aquapod water bottles are adorable round drinks that encourage kids to drink water. They're easy to hold, and cute to look at. They also contain less water than an adult-size drink, making it easier for your kids to finish. Children can make animals out of their empty Aquapod water bottles. From piggy banks to birds, a craft project will encourage children to finish their water and use their imagination.

Instructions

1. Cut out animal heads and legs from templates. Let children color them and glue them to the top and sides of the bottle. See the Resource section for an elephant template.

2. Turn an Aquapod water bottle onto its side. Cut a slit in the top of the water bottle using a utility knife. Widen the slit large enough for a quarter to fit through.

3. Spray paint the bottle pink. After the paint is dry, let children use black Sharpie markers to draw a pig's face on the top of the bottle. They can draw the nose on the bottle cap, and draw feet on the sides. They can also draw an animal other than a pig.

4. Attach a curled pipe cleaner to the bottom of the bottle, and you have a piggy bank. For different animals, use pipe cleaners and pom-poms for tails; construction paper to create dog or cat ears to glue on the head; and googly eyes to make silly faces.

5. Create a bird by placing the Aquapod bottle right-side up. Spray paint the bottle the color of the bird's body and allow the paint to dry. Cut out wings and feet from construction paper. Glue the wings to the side of the bottle and the feet to the bottom so they stick out.

6. Draw the bird's face on with a Sharpie marker, or draw the face on construction paper and cut it out. Glue the construction paper to the front of the bottle. You can also fold a piece of orange construction paper in half and cut out a triangle on the fold to create a diamond shape. Glue the fold onto the bottle where the bird's beak should go, and your bird will have an open mouth.
