Boxelder bugs
are insects that often invade homes and gardens. In homes, the boxelder bug can multiply quite readily due to climate control. Although the only real physical threat they pose to the human is skin irritation, their droppings can stain curtains and other areas they inhabit.
Instructions
1. The first step for eliminating boxelder bugs is to vacuum them.
2. In addition, to vacuuming, you'll also need to use a residual spray. The spray must be labeled for use inside your home, outside your home, and on trees and shrubs. A good example of this type of spray is Tempo WP.
3. Use the spray on baseboards and any place you spot a boxelder bug.
4. Be sure to dust all of the cracks and crevices in your home. These locations are where the boxelder bug often spends the cold winter months.
5. If you prefer a dust to a spray, a good choice is Delta Dust. This dust is great for the cracks and crevices mentioned in Step 4. In addition to ridding your home of current boxelder bugs, it will make the area unappealing for future boxelder bugs that may attempt to move in.
6. If you're having problems with boxelder bugs outside your home, use a spray such as Tempo WP close to the infested structure.
7. Also, spray as high as possible outdoors and into any cracks or crevices.
8. If you live in an area that normally sees a good many boxelder bugs, it's wise to apply a preventative spray in the late summer months.
