Use Listerine For Psoriasis

Psoriasis is a condition where a sufferer has patches of scaly, itchy and inflamed skin. These patches can appear on the knees, elbows, hands, feet, scalp or back. Sometimes it covers large areas of the body. This chronic condition can be difficult to control. People use creams, medications and even steroids to rid themselves of the condition. These treatments work for some and fail to work for others. Before you opt to use a medication or steroid treatment that can have side effects, it may be a good idea to first try a remedy that will be less harsh on your body. Listerine treatments may be one way to get rid of your psoriasis without taking internal medications.

Instructions

1. Purchase a bottle of Listerine. It would be best to use the brand name product and not the generic brand as the composition is not identical. Also, be sure to purchase the original version and not the flavored or colored versions of the Listerine.

2. Purchase large cotton swabs. You will use these to apply the Listerine to your skin. It is advisable to keep your cotton in an airtight container or jar to prevent any kind of contamination.

3. Clean the area of your body that has the psoriasis inflammation. If there is a great deal of flaky skin, brush off as mush as possible without peeling the skin.

4. Soak the cotton ball with Listerine and apply it to the damaged skin. Saturate the rash area well and allow it to air dry.

5. Treat your scalp for psoriasis. If the Psoriasis is on your scalp, you need to wash your hair thoroughly, and then pour a capful of Listerine on the affected area of your scalp. Allow it to sit for a few minutes, then rinse and style as usual.
