Make Vinegar Garlic Spray For Cleaning

With all of the attention paid to environmentally friendly cleaning products, many people are making their own cleansers and sprays to use in place of commercial products. Home cleansers are generally made with products most families already have in place and cost a fraction of what can be purchased at the market. Vinegar often provides the base, along with water, to clean counter tops, windows, bathrooms and other surfaces. The addition of garlic can add a preventative boost against mold and pests. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Peel and chop two to four cloves of fresh garlic. You don't need to mince the garlic, cutting the pieces in to halves or thirds is plenty.

2. Boil the garlic in one cup of water for five minutes. Cool and strain the garlic through a mesh strainer or piece of cheesecloth. Capture the garlic water in a pot or measuring cup to add into the spray bottle.

3. Pour 1/2 cup of white or apple cider vinegar into a clean spray bottle, add the garlic water and fill the remainder of the bottle up with clean water. Double the recipe and store in a glass jar with a lid for later use.
