What Is Arctic Insecticide

ARCTIC is a permethrin-based insecticide and miticide produced by Winfield Solutions under its Agrisolutions label. It is used on food and ornamental plants and to control spiders and insects in livestock housing. Does this Spark an idea?


Ingredients


ARCTIC is an emulsifiable solution of permethrin (36.8 percent). Other ingredients include petroleum distillates. One gallon of this concentrate contains 3.2 lbs of permethrin.


Pests


ARCTIC is approved for use to control over 140 species of flies, caterpillars, borers, beetles, ants, aphids, cockroaches and spiders.


Use


ARCTIC may be used on a variety of food and animal feed crops, including alfalfa, corn, tomatoes and most members of the cabbage family. It is also used to spray fruit and nut trees to control pests.


Application


ARCTIC may be applied as a spray to barns, stables, feedlots, pig pens and chicken coops to control flies and other pests.


Warnings


This insecticide is proven harmful to fish and all labeling instructions must be followed regarding control of runoff. Livestock should not be allowed to graze on cover crops in orchards sprayed with ARCTIC, and animal housing should remain unoccupied for 24 hours after spraying.
