Make A Garlic Spray To Repel Mosquitoes

Garlic is an organic mosquito repellent.

Enjoying your backyard or outdoor living space becomes less enjoyable when mosquitoes are out in full force. Mosquitoes feed on the blood of humans or animals and are most active in the morning and evening. While there are many commercial products available to repel mosquitoes, such as sprays, candles and lotions, most of these products contain chemicals that aren't healthy for you, your pets or the environment. Homemade garlic mosquito repellent spray effectively keeps mosquitoes away without chemicals. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Pour 2 oz. garlic juice into a spray bottle. Use ready-to-use garlic juice from the store or make your own garlic juice with fresh cloves of garlic and a juicer. Use the cloves of one bulb of garlic and 2 tbsp. water in the juicer to make fresh garlic juice.

2. Add 10 oz. water to the garlic juice in the spray bottle. Straight garlic is overpowering and can cause your eyes to water, similar to onions. Watering the garlic juice down does not reduce its effectiveness but makes the odor tolerable.

3. Spray bottles make it easier to apply garlic juice mosquito repellent.

Close the spray bottle and shake the solution well to mix.

4. Spray the mosquito repellent on your skin and clothing, avoiding the face. Squirt some on your hands and rub it on your pet's fur to keep mosquitoes away from your pet.

5. Cut strips of cotton cloth and saturate the strips with the garlic spray. Hang the garlic-soaked cloth strips around your patio or yard to keep mosquitoes out of the area.
