Natural Household Items For Mosquito Repellent

Mosquito bites can be prevented naturally.


Mosquito bites can put a damper on a picnic or camping trip. Preventing mosquitoes from getting to their victim is the first line of defense. Using natural household items for repelling them can ease the discomfort caused by their bites. Does this Spark an idea?


Garlic


Garlic is a natural mosquito repellent. One or two cloves of chopped garlic added to 4 cups of water in a spray bottle can then be sprayed onto any exposed body parts to naturally repel mosquitoes. This solution will typically last five hours or more.


Herbs


Sage and rosemary are often used to deter mosquitoes. The herbs can be placed on a barbecue or open fire.


Plants


Marigolds act as a mosquito repellent when planted around a porch or patio. When planted in containers, these flowers can be taken on camping trips or outings and placed around perimeters of the camp or picnic to help keep mosquitoes away.
