There are more than 100 different kinds of intestinal parasites that can live inside your body. They can be contracted through the air (through the nose or skin), food, water and insects such as mosquitoes. Symptoms may include diarrhea, digestive problems, fatigue, anemia, asthma and skin rash. Your physician can prescribe medications for your child to rid him of the parasites, but some of these can be harsh with their own uncomfortable side effects. There are alternative treatments that you can use.
Instructions
Treating Intestinal Parasites in Children
1. Give your child raw pomegranates, beets and carrots. These foods contain properties that discourage parasites. Avoid giving her refined foods and sugars except for honey.
2. Include high-fiber foods in his diet, such as whole-grain cereals and breads. These foods will help clear his intestines of worms.
3. Give her probiotics, such as Lactobacillus acidophilus, Lactobacilus plantarum or Saccharomyces boulardii, to prevent parasites from proliferating.
4. Give him digestive enzymes, such as papain, which comes from papayas, approximately 30 minutes before each meal.
5. Add daily vitamin C and zinc supplements to boost her immune system.
6. Give him herbs that are appropriate for treating the specific type of parasite that he has. Your physician should make the diagnosis and can recommend which herb to use. Some of the herbs that may be used include garlic, barberry, golden seal, anise, tea tree oil or black walnuts.
