Kill Ants Without Sprays

Ants can be a problem both in and out of your home. They can ruin patches of your yard, contaminate food that has been left open in your house and simply gross you out. Spray pesticides filled with chemicals will kill the ants but they can also ruin property and make you or your pets sick. Fortunately, there are household remedies available that will allow you to kill ants safely both inside and outside of your house. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions


Outdoors


1. Add approximately three gallons of water to a pot and boil the water. If you don't want to measure out the water, you could just fill the pot about an inch below the top of the pot.


2. Take the pot of boiling water to wherever the ants are on your property.


3. Pour the boiling water onto the ants. Make sure to soak the entire area of your yard that is filled with ants.


4. Examine the area to ensure that all of the ants have been killed. If you still see ants, you will need to repeat this process to kill all of the ants.


Indoors


5. Locate where the ants are entering your house. Common spots are open areas near doors and windows.


6. Suck up all visible ants you see with a vacuum cleaner.


7. Spray white vinegar wherever the ants entered your home as well as any areas that were filled with ants. This will clean away the chemical trails of the ants and help to prevent ants from re-entering your home.


8. Close up the space where the ants entered your home. Depending on the location and size of the area, you could use caulk or even tape to close off the area.


9. Place ant traps filled with bait near the spot where the ants entered the house. If any ants do remain, they will take this bait back to the colony, thus killing off the rest of the ants.
