Connect An Led To 2 Aa Batteries

Two AA batteries can provide ample power for most models of LEDs.

LEDs are small lights that come in a variety of colors and styles. They also have low power requirements, making them ideal for a wide range of applications such as decorative lighting or warning lights on electronic circuits. While LEDs are flexible enough to perform well off a variety of different power sources, one simple way to give your LED ample power with a minimum amount of wiring is to connect it to two AA batteries in series.

Instructions

1. Connect the positive end of the first AA battery to the negative end of the second AA battery using copper wiring. Secure the two batteries in a plastic battery holder that will preserve the connection when you move the LED apparatus.

2. Connect the positive end of the second AA battery to a resistor. LEDs are very sensitive to current and voltage, so it's important that you use a resistor of the appropriate resistance to ensure that the LED is sufficiently powered but not burnt out. Consult the documentation of your LED to determine its voltage drop and desired current.

3. Connect the free end of the resistor to the anode terminal of the LED.

4. Connect the cathode terminal of the LED to the negative end of the first battery.

5. Your LED should now light up.
