Mosquitoes are pests and can easily ruin a fun summer day or night. Luckily, there is a solution, which is to thermally fog your yard. A thermal fogging machine burns pesticide into a smoke of fog to be distributed over your lawn. This is an easy way to get rid of mosquitoes and allow you to enjoy your time outside.
Instructions
1. Locate your mosquito problem. Some pesticides and fogging devices are not safe for indoor fogging, but other pesticides are safe both inside and outside of your home.
2. Pick your fogging machine and pesticide. There are several options for thermal fogging machines that can be found at your local hardware stores. Find an inside and outside machine, if you plan on thermally fogging both indoors and outdoors. Choose a pesticide that has the agents necessary to break down and turn into fog.
3. Close your windows. This should be done whether you are working inside or out. If you are working inside, keeping the windows closed helps the fog to spread throughout the house. If you are targeting the outside, keep the windows closed so the chemicals do not get inside your house.
4. Get longer results. If you are working outdoors, add 2 ounces of a synthetic pyrethrin insecticide concentrate such as Permethrin-10 to your pesticide. By mixing this into your fogging solution, the pesticide will stay on your lawn longer after thermal fogging.
5. Leave no residue. If you are fogging before a specific event and don’t want the lawn to look like it has been fogged, add the synthetic pyrethrin Resmethrin to your solution. This will leave practically no residue on your lawn.
6. Pay attention to the wind direction. You want to make sure that when fogging your lawn, you actually treat the lawn and the wind isn't blowing the chemicals elsewhere.
