Bug Zapper Instructions

Use a bug zapper to remove mosquitoes from your entertaining area.

Eating and entertaining outside is ideal when possible, but the one thing that ruins a good time is the amount of mosquitoes or insects flying around the food or guests. To reduce the number of bugs in your socializing area, hanging a bug zapper a few feet away will attract bugs to the zapper and leave your guests alone. Instructions for using a bug zapper are easy and can be done in a very short period of time. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Choose a location for the bug zapper that is at least 25 feet away from your entertaining area. If there is water on or near the property, place the bug zapper between that water source and you since bugs are attracted to water. Many bug zappers cover between ½ and 1 ½ acres of land, depending on the model you choose.

2. Place the mosquito lure into the zapper, if there is one with the model you have. Open the lure packet, and place it into the designated holder on the zapper as per manufacturer instructions. Push the lure into place so it's secure.

3. Hang the bug zapper in your designated area either from a mounting pole or tree. The bug zapper should never be hung from a building, especially the home.

4. Plug in the zapper's electrical cord to an outdoor-approved extension cord, and then plug it into a power source. Allow at least five minutes for the bulb to become illuminated and begin attracting and zapping insects.

5. Remove the zapper when not in use, especially during inclement weather. Some zappers suggest use during spring and summer, and storing the product during fall and winter.
